Ace taking a "hand off" from the Harken No.7 - 2014-04-22 |
Seaspan's Ace - she was Seaspan's local harbour tug that serviced the traffic to the local Catalyst Mill. Seaspan's larger tugs that pull the chip and hog barges to the mill are much too big to manuever inside the harbour, which is the work the Ace did. As such I saw her on the water virtually daily, and have many photos. As of early May 2014 Seaspan has moved her down to the Lower Mainland, and she has been replaced by their J.R.W. With the consolidation in the industry over the last few years, she was the Rivtow Ace and the Smit Ace before becoming plain-jane Ace for Seaspan.
